Utterli Group Calling Has Arrived

Dear Community,
We’re very pleased to introduce to Group Calling to Utterli. This new feature will be an exciting new complement to Utterli Groups, allowing you to invite, host, and record a group call for free and post it as an utter.
Group calling is a perfect solution for:
- Podcasters conducting interviews and talk shows
- Bloggers that want to talk directly with their audience
- Groups using conference calling as a collaboration tool
- Families that want to talk while also sharing pics, videos & more
More about Utterli Group Calling:
There are two very important changes to your notification preferences:
- The default preference for group calling notifications is OFF: if you or your group want to start receiving notifications, you must turn them ON.
- We’ve added a new preference for group calling to your groups notification preferences.
Utterli Group Calling: Full List of Features
Here’s a full list of what you can do on the phone side:
- Start a group call via speech recognition
- Join a group call (automatically via Call ID, or, using a group code created by the call creator)
- Record a group call and create an utter for it
Here’s a full list of what you can do from the web:
- Start a group call
- Edit your group call notifications (current defaults for email/SMS are set to OFF)
- Edit your group call preferences (either no group calls, only group calls started by the moderator, or group calls started by anyone)
- Select members to invite (direct notifications if preferences are turned off)
- Presence (determine who is on the call)
- Recording state (active or inactive)
- Create a group code
- Review group calling instructions
- Review group calling help page

How To…
JOIN A GROUP CALL:
- Dial 712-432-6666
- If there’s a group call in progress, press [4] to join the group call.
- OR, if you have a group code: press [4], then press [2] and enter the group code.
START A GROUP CALL:
From the web:
- Go to your groups page select the call icon
- Select whom you’d like to invite. Notifications are sent via email and/or SMS text message. Members need to set their group call notification preferences here.
- Click "Start Call".
- The users are invited to join the call and dial in.
- You will see your friends as they join the group.
From the phone:
- Dial 712-432-6666
- Press [3] to start a group call.
- Then press [3] to select the group.
- Speak the name(s) of the group(s) to invite to the call.
- The users are invited to join the call and dial in.
RECORD A GROUP CALL:
- While on the group call to start, pause, or resume recording, press [2].
- To mute or unmute yourself during the call, press [5].
- To end the call and recording, press [#]. The recording is posted to the group as an utter.
