Financial Productivity: Using Quicken Online to Track Your Finances
Welcome back!
For a long time I tried many different services to track our household spending. I tried Mint, Microsoft Money and a few others. The one that I tried lately was Quicken Online and I can say that I like it best!
Quicken Online has recently gone completely free (for a frugal person like me that’s GREAT news)! I use it to analyze our spending and keep track of accounts. What I like best is the ability to see where all the money has been spent at the glance of a page.
When you first add your accounts to Quicken, it starts the learning process of identifying your transactions and categorizing them in the right places. When you first start, Quicken will attempt to auto-categorize everything that comes across your bank account. If it comes across an item that it is unsure about, it will put it in an “Uncategorized” category, then you can assign where it goes.
You can also add your own categories in both income and outgoing, which makes it possible to track your spending on specific things.
Overall, Quicken Online is a great, free, easy way to tack your monies. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
