Get ahold of me!

Welcome back!

If you check out the sidebar, you’ll see a Digsby widget – chat with me when you see me online, which will be mostly in the evenings – perhaps at my new job I will be able to have a chat client.

I’d love to hear from you – have a good night!

Losing a foothold on the GTD bandwagon – what a week!

Good Afternoon!

Last week was one hectic week. As you know from my previous story, we didn’t have any internet access until 03.21. AT&T tech was there bright and early at 9AM, and was gone by 11AM. After that, I got the VOIP from VOIP Your Life hooked up, and the household was complete with both phone and internet. I’m so glad that’s over: I really dislike dealing with large companies where you cannot deal with one person on one issue. Specialist fields are good, but whatever happened to concurrent workflow?

I can’t imagine how I would have even had time to get online last week anyway. I don’t think I even remember any day last week with the exception of Friday. Frustration was high with me, as I feel it’s a crucial time to build consistency and readership of this blog. Things get better everyday, and I have no one but my readership to thank for that – so thank you!

In regards to my GTD course and following, last week I did not put up my worksheet due to lack in internet. I have to confess with all that went on last week, I didn’t even do it. I have not cleared my physical inbox for two Friday. I did manage to clear my email inbox each and every day I was at work. I do know what is sitting in my physical inbox, and I can say that it’s nothing that I can take care of immediately – I’m waiting on more information. So I have had a serious fall from the GTD bandwagon. Keeping up with my to-do lists and project lists was done, but the final processing of tangible items was not. This week I will be focusing on getting caught up on my coursework from the 7 Habits course, as well as seeing if I can do anything at all about what I have in there.

One unexpected thing that was added to our to-do list this past week was replacing my SO identification and SS card. Having a wallet stolen on a Friday night has to be one of the worst times for it to happen (other than Saturday or Sunday). We got all the credit cards canceled and re-ordered, but getting a new drivers’ license and SS card proved to be a challenge that could send a saint to drink. In our state, if your license is stolen, you have to provide a birth certificate and one other document that contains your SS number. If your birth certificate does not contain your SS, then you need one other document. The list is very specific and out of everything on there, the only thing that we could get that would work was a copy of doctors’ records. And of course doctors typically aren’t open on Saturday, so today I was on the phone first thing getting records from the doctor and finding out was is needed to replace a social security card.

To replace a social security card, the SSA needs a picture ID. But in order to get your picture ID once it’s stolen, they want proof of your SS number. So it’s a very vicious circle to try and get it – they pretty much each want what the other agency wants. A drivers license was finally obtained a half hour ago, and SS card application will be filed within the next hour.

I certainly hope that today is not indicative of how the entire week is going to be: I have Friday off was my last day here is Thursday, so I am certainly looking forward to the rest, relaxation, and peace and quiet.
